How Rock Solid Insulation Was Born in Ontario
We started Rock Solid Insulation in 2012, but the idea had been brewing for a while before that. We’d spent years in the trades around Ontario, walking through homes in neighborhoods like Creekside and Ranch at Ontario, and we kept seeing the same thing: insulation jobs done fast, done cheap, and done wrong. Attics with gaping voids. Walls that had been pumped with whatever material was on sale that month. Crawl spaces that nobody wanted to look at, so nobody did.
The moment that pushed us over the edge came during a brutal Inland Empire summer, one of those August stretches where Ontario hits triple digits for two weeks straight and the AC units on every block are running nonstop. We were in a home near Euclid Avenue, and the homeowner had paid another company thousands of dollars for a full insulation job the year before. Her upstairs bedrooms were still hitting 85 degrees by noon. When we climbed into the attic to see what was going on, the insulation was barely six inches deep in places, uneven, compressed, and full of gaps around the vents and recessed lights. The work had never been done right. It had just been done enough to get paid.
We fixed that attic properly, and the homeowner called us back a week later to say her kids’ bedrooms were finally comfortable. She didn’t say it like it was a miracle. She said it like it was what she’d paid for in the first place. That stuck with us. We started Rock Solid Insulation with one promise: do the job the way we’d want it done in our own home. Don’t cut corners. Don’t hide mistakes. Show up when we say we will, and leave the place better than we found it. That promise hasn’t changed in fourteen years.
Our Founder’s Personal Connection to the Insulation Trade
We didn’t grow up dreaming about fiberglass. Nobody does. Our path into insulation started in the crawl spaces and attics of the Inland Empire, doing general home repair work and seeing, over and over, how many comfort problems traced back to the stuff hidden inside the walls. We’d get called out for a room that wouldn’t stay warm in January, or a summer electric bill that made a homeowner wince, and we’d climb up into the attic and find the real story: insulation that had settled, been installed backwards, or was never there in the first place.
The first time we pulled a sheet of old fiberglass batt away from a stud bay and felt the heat pouring through the wall behind it, it was like finding the answer to a question the homeowners had been asking for years. They’d replaced windows. They’d bought heavier curtains. They’d complained to the builder. Nobody had looked at the insulation. When we fixed it, the room finally held its temperature. That was the moment the work clicked for us. This wasn’t just stuffing material into cavities. It was solving a problem people lived with every single day, a problem they couldn’t see and couldn’t fix themselves.
There’s something honest about insulation work. You can’t see it when it’s done right. The walls look the same. The attic looks cleaner, maybe, but nothing shouts at you. What changes is how the house feels. The bedroom that used to bake in the afternoon finally cools off. The furnace stops cycling every fifteen minutes. The sound of the 10 Freeway, which you didn’t even notice you’d been hearing for years, fades away. We get out of bed in the morning because we know we can make someone’s home feel different by the end of the day. Not different on the surface. Different where it counts.
If we weren’t doing this work, we’d probably still be doing something with our hands. We’ve always been happiest when we’re fixing something, building something, making something work better than it did. Insulation just turned out to be the thing that mattered most.
Meet Our Team – The Person Behind Every Job
Rock Solid Insulation was founded by someone who spent more than a decade learning the trades before ever touching a bag of blow-in insulation. That background means we approach every job the way a craftsman approaches a project: measure carefully, use quality materials, and don’t walk away until it’s right. We’ve worked with the leading products in the industry, including systems from Owens Corning and Johns Manville, and we’ve seen firsthand how different materials perform in the specific climate of the Inland Empire.
What separates us from a corporate franchise technician is simple: this is our company, our name, and our reputation on every single job. We don’t pass work off to someone else and walk away. When a customer in Ontario calls about an attic, we’re the ones thinking about it that night. We’re the ones who care whether the job holds up through the next heat wave or the next cold snap. That personal stake changes how you work. It changes how you talk to people. It changes what you’re willing to accept as “good enough.”
Away from the job, we’re homebodies. We appreciate a quiet evening, a well-built piece of furniture, and the satisfaction of a project finished properly. That’s the same energy we bring to every insulation job in Ontario. We commit to every customer personally. If something isn’t right, we’ll make it right.
Our Promise to Ontario Homeowners
We promise honest pricing. Every project starts with a free written estimate, and the number we quote is the number we stand behind. No surprise add-ons halfway through the job, no pressure tactics, no upsells that aren’t backed by a real benefit to your home. We’d rather walk away from a job than win it by inflating the scope.
We promise quality materials. The insulation in your walls and attic is going to sit there for decades. That’s not a place to cut corners. We use proven products from manufacturers we trust, and we install them to the specifications that make them work. Proper depth, proper coverage, proper attention to the details most people never see.
We promise to stand behind every job. If something isn’t right after we leave, we want to know about it. We’re not going to make you chase us. A customer who has to fight to get a problem fixed is a customer we’ve failed, and that’s not a feeling we’re willing to live with.
Our Credentials
When you invite a company into your home, you deserve to know who you’re working with. Here’s where we stand:
- State-licensed: Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license their state requires. No exceptions.
- Insured & bonded: Your home and your property are protected. We carry the coverage a professional trades business should carry.
- Years of local experience: We’ve been serving Ontario and the surrounding Inland Empire since 2012. That’s more than a decade of attics, walls, and crawl spaces in this specific climate.
- Strong local reputation: Homeowners across Ontario, Upland, Rancho Cucamonga, and the neighboring communities have trusted us with their insulation projects and referred us to their friends and neighbors.
Why does any of this matter to a homeowner? Because insulation work happens in the parts of your home you rarely see. You’re trusting the person who goes up there to do the job right, not just do it fast. A license means they’re accountable to the state. Insurance means you’re not on the hook if something goes wrong. And more than a decade of local experience means we’ve seen how Inland Empire homes are built and how they fail, so we know what to look for before it becomes a problem.
Rooted in Ontario
Ontario isn’t just where we work. It’s where we live, shop, and spend our weekends. We’ve grabbed coffee in the historic downtown, fought the parking at Ontario Mills during the holidays, and watched the foothills turn gold in the fall. We know the neighborhoods off Mountain Avenue, the older pockets near Euclid with their original 1950s insulation, and the new developments going up near Ranch Cucamonga. This community has supported us for fourteen years, and every job we do here is an investment in the place we call home.
